The North West Leicestershire School Sports Partnership here is also a Girls’ Schools Football Partnership with who we work with to help extend the girls football offer in the local community.

FA Shooting Stars Clubs:

The FA Shooting Stars programme is aimed at primary school aged girls to encourage them into physical activity through the Active Play Through Storytelling club and more specifically into football through the Girls’ Football Club. These sessions are inspired by Disney, ran in school and take the girls through various Disney stories such as Frozen, Toy Story & Guardian’s of the Galaxy whilst incorporating in physical activity. The NWLSSP then encourage girls from these clubs ran in the schools to then attend our Wildcat sessions and become part of the club!

FA Game Of Our Own:

The FA Game Of Our Own programme is aimed at KS3 girls and is designed to get them more actively involved in other roles in football aside from just players. This programme encourages girls to design, promote and run their own football clubs at their school.

Year 5/6 Girls’ Competition:

The North West Leicestershire Year 5/6 Girls’ Football Competition is held here at Ashby Ivanhoe FC! Every October teams from all across NWL come to our ground to take part in the Level 2 Football Competition to earn a place in the County Danone Cup which usually takes place in November/December. This year too we hope to hold more girls festivals for the younger age groups!
